At Redwire Space Missions, we're building the future. We are seeking a Principal Spacecraft Assembly, Integration & Test (AI&T) Engineer to coordinate critical testing efforts for our product development and project deliverables. This role is central to ensuring the integrity and success of our spacecraft missions.
What You'll Do
- Develop and manage comprehensive, high-value spacecraft testing campaigns.
- Identify testing methods, develop detailed test plans, and design Ground Support Equipment (GSE) for risk mitigation, requirements verification, and prototype development.
- Establish assembly and test processes for sub-systems and full vehicle integration testing.
- Recommend and implement improvements to testing processes and methodologies.
- Assist the systems team in developing practical and measurable product requirements.
- Monitor, maintain test equipment, and ensure facility capabilities are ready to support all testing activities.
- Lead and mentor a team of test engineers and technicians.
- Analyze test results and provide detailed reports to engineering and project stakeholders.
- Work with the design team to incorporate system changes to meet performance requirements.
- Manage team training and enforce strict safety protocols for all spacecraft testing campaigns.
What We're Looking For
- A B.S. Degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
- 12+ years of experience with a Bachelor's, 10+ years with a Master's, or 7+ years with a PhD.
- Hands-on experience with Environmental Testing, including overseeing and processing data from random vibration, static loading, thermal-vacuum, acoustic, and EMI/EMC tests.
- Proficiency with metrology, Data Acquisition, and using manual/electronic equipment to measure loads, dimensions, displacements, and electrical parameters.
- Familiarity with Classical and Computational Analysis to interpret and validate Finite Element predictions and test results.
- Experience supporting business development by providing technical briefings and preparing Basis of Estimates (BOEs) for AI&T proposals.
Nice to Have
- Design experience using CAD to create and fabricate mechanical systems and mechanisms.
- Experience with rapid prototyping methods for fast proof-of-concept development.
- Ability to design custom tests and develop special test equipment.
- Experience with requirement generation and establishing appropriate verification criteria.
- Adaptability and comfort performing varied tasks across multiple engineering disciplines.
- Effective collaborative and communication skills to interface with product teams, managers, and leads.

Benefits & Compensation
- Salary range: $190,000 - $238,000 per year.
