The role involves leading integration and test operations for an air-launched hypersonic vehicle, working with engineering teams to ensure systems meet requirements through comprehensive testing, data analysis, and adherence to defined standards.
Responsibilities
- Works with systems engineers, test leads, and program leadership to plan and carry out vehicle integration and testing activities
- Creates and implements hardware-in-the-loop and on-vehicle test procedures
- Partners with engineering disciplines to develop and sustain an accurate test objective database
- Ensures testing fully validates compliance with vehicle requirements
- Takes part in test planning, Test Readiness Reviews, test execution, troubleshooting, and post-test data evaluation
- Designs and improves methods for data review, along with associated tools for data analysis
- Analyzes interdependencies between subsystems to support integrated testing
- Establishes and enforces standards for test documentation and planning processes
- Acts with integrity, accountability, and ethical conduct when meeting job responsibilities
Requirements
- Experience in small, fast-paced engineering teams where individuals handle multiple roles
- Background in test operations such as vehicle integration, ground testing, or flight testing
- Knowledge of avionics, instrumentation, software, fluid systems, liquid rockets, or structures, in order of priority
- Ability to adjust quickly to shifting priorities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Eligibility to obtain and retain a security clearance
Nice to Have
- Experience serving as a Test Conductor
- Involvement in systems engineering for major reviews like System Requirements Review, Preliminary Design Review, or Critical Design Review
- Experience upholding aerospace configuration control standards
- Background in air-launched hypersonic vehicle development
- Experience identifying, managing, and mitigating technical risks
- Experience defining, tracking, and verifying requirements for hypersonic vehicles with hot-structure airframes
- Current DOD Secret security clearance

Level II: $101,000 - $132,500; Sr Level: $120,400 - $158,000
