Stratolaunch is hiring a Payload Integration & Test Engineer (Level II or Senior) to join the team developing the Talon-A air-launched, hypersonic vehicle. You will interface with a multi-disciplinary engineering team and program leadership to ensure vehicle payloads meet rigorous testing standards.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate with systems engineering, test engineers, and program leadership to define and implement vehicle integration and test activities.
- Develop and execute hardware-in-the-loop and on-vehicle test procedures.
- Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to produce and maintain an up-to-date test objective database.
- Ensure the vehicle is tested to meet all requirements.
- Participate in test planning, Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs), test execution, vehicle troubleshooting, and post-test data reviews.
- Architect and optimize data review methodology and data analysis tools.
- Understand connections and dependencies between subsystems.
- Set standards for test planning and documentation and ensure compliance.
- Demonstrate honesty, responsibility, and integrity in the fulfillment of commitments.
What We're Looking For
- Experience working in small, dynamic engineering teams where members have multiple responsibilities.
- Previous test experience (e.g., vehicle integration, ground testing, flight testing).
- Familiarity with avionics, instrumentation, software, fluid systems, liquid rockets, and/or structures.
- Ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to acquire and maintain a security clearance.
Nice to Have
- Experience as a Test Conductor.
- Experience contributing to systems engineering content for major reviews (System Requirements Review, Preliminary Design Review, Critical Design Review).
- Experience maintaining aerospace industry standards for vehicle configuration and changes.
- Experience with air-launched hypersonic vehicle development.
- Experience with technical risk identification, management, and mitigation.
- Experience defining, managing, and verifying requirements for hypersonic vehicles with hot-structure airframes.
- Current DOD Secret security clearance.
