The Data QA Engineer is responsible for maintaining the reliability of data products by validating data pipelines, dashboards, and SQL queries. This role ensures accurate data flow and analytical consistency within an Agile framework through close collaboration with technical teams.
Responsibilities
- Perform manual validation of data pipelines, reporting dashboards, and SQL query outputs
- Develop and manage automated test scripts for data pipeline verification using SQL and Python
- Test data transformations throughout the pipeline, from initial ingestion to modeled layers in dbt and Snowflake
- Work with data engineers and analysts to establish test strategies and define acceptance standards
- Support the creation and upkeep of test documentation and quality assurance processes
- Detect, document, and escalate data discrepancies, anomalies, and inconsistencies in a timely manner
- Engage in Agile sprint activities including story refinement and retrospective meetings
Requirements
- Minimum of two years of QA experience with a focus on manual testing
- At least one year of involvement in data-focused or analytics initiatives
- Strong SQL skills for querying and verifying large-scale datasets
- Proven experience in testing ETL or ELT workflows and dashboard accuracy
- High level of precision with excellent analytical and troubleshooting abilities
- Comfortable working in a collaborative Agile environment

- Familiarity with Python or comparable languages for test automation purposes
