About the Role

Symbotic LLC is hiring a Principal Project Manager, Manufacturing to lead manufacturing and third-party activities for our autonomous robots, automated cells, and engineered structures. You will manage the execution schedule for production ramp-up and customer installation, serving as a critical link between technical teams and stakeholders.

What You'll Do

  • Lead efforts and partnerships with product solutions architects, quality engineers, technology providers, and infrastructure functions to support concepts, high-level designs, and end-to-end solutions.
  • Understand complex technical issues, communicate effectively with internal and external technical personnel, triage issues by priority, impact, and risk, and facilitate resolution.
  • Develop and update Design Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) to align requirements with goals and identify and mitigate potential failure mechanisms.
  • Lead projects with Quality activities including PPAP, PFMEA, SPC, and process capability.
  • Lead engineering change requests (ECR) per document control procedures.
  • Review engineering and manufacturing tasks and initiate any necessary corrective actions.
  • Review new and existing system designs and make recommendations for improvement or alteration.
  • Ensure the safe execution of all activities through the project lifecycle, from manufacturing to implementation.
  • Assure engagement and alignment from required project constituents, including outside resources such as engineering partners and contractors.
  • Ensure projects are engineered for the long-term, seeking reliability and life-testing results to ensure Customer Loyalty and strong Return on Invested Capital (ROIC).

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Manufacturing, or Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 12 years’ experience in manufacturing, quality, and automation development, with preference in robotics.
  • Strong technical background in automation equipment deployment.
  • Expert project management skills and experience managing complex projects.
  • Strong leadership and an innate ability to collaborate and build relationships.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in managing projects across broad internal and external stakeholders.
  • Track record of exceeding project deliverables while remaining on time and within budget, with a focus on mitigating risks.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement creative solutions while working under pressure.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills and ability to collaborate and communicate with all levels of employees and management.
  • Proficient with MS Office.
  • Familiar with scheduling software (MS Project, Primavera) and earned value management systems.
  • Valid driver’s license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and customer locations.

Nice to Have

  • Master's degree preferred.

Team & Environment

Part of the Project Management team, serving as a key liaison between technical teams, stakeholders, and management.

  • Compensation: $150,000.00 - $206,800.00
