Fluidstack is hiring a Principal ICT Engineer

Fluidstack is seeking a Principal ICT Engineer to lead full-cycle Information Communication Technology (ICT) design for mission-critical data center projects. In this role, you will collaborate with design staff and organizational leadership to develop specifications and oversee complex design efforts from conception to completion.

What You'll Do

• Independently perform advanced engineering work and ICT design tasks.
• Perform advanced computation analysis and design for complex projects, components, and systems.
• Independently develop scalable fiber optic and copper plant designs, determining physical layer routes and utilization.
• Utilize AutoCAD and Revit software to prepare drawings and visual aids.
• Review and prepare book or sheet specifications.
• Manage project design teams effectively, including resource forecasting and coordination.
• Identify potential project scope changes and develop strategies to minimize impact on costs and deadlines.
• Perform QAQC peer reviews for projects where you are not the lead design engineer.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 10+ years of engineering experience.
• 2+ years working specifically on Mission Critical Data Center design projects.
• Advanced knowledge of fiber optic components, cabling, interconnect products, and ICT structured cabling design technologies and standards.
• Experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Skilled in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
• Ability to leverage AI and emerging technologies to streamline workflows and contribute to innovation.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills (both oral and written, technical and non-technical).
• Ability to serve as a primary point of client contact, work successfully in a team or independently, manage multiple tasks under pressure, and meet deadlines.
• Proven ability to work successfully in a remote environment through self-motivation, proactiveness, and effective communication.
• Ability to identify and analyze complex problems, evaluate alternatives, and implement effective solutions.
• Ability to effectively plan and delegate the work of others.

Nice to Have

• Registered Communications Distribution Design Certificate.
• Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) Certification.
• Experience with Revit modelling software.
