As Principal Enterprise Architect, you will drive the architectural transformation of a Property & Casualty insurance technology environment, guiding the shift toward cloud-native, multi-tenant platforms. Your work will define the long-term vision for scalable, secure, and intelligent systems that support AI integration, digital portals, and core insurance operations including policy administration, billing, and claims.
Key Responsibilities
- Define the future-state architecture for cloud platforms, custom applications, and integrated SaaS/PaaS ecosystems
- Design multi-tenant, white-labeled platform solutions that support diverse carrier and agency needs
- Lead the adoption of microservices, serverless computing, containerization (Kubernetes, Docker), and event-driven architectures
- Establish patterns for secure, scalable application development, integration, and data management across hybrid and multi-cloud environments
- Drive cloud modernization through Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation), CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices
- Advise engineering and business leaders on cloud strategy, platform extensibility, and digital transformation initiatives
- Mentor architects and developers to strengthen technical depth and architectural discipline across teams
- Stay ahead of industry trends, contributing insights through research and strategic planning with a 3–5 year horizon
Qualifications
You bring 10+ years in IT architecture with deep experience in insurance technology and cloud platforms. You have delivered highly available, cloud-native systems using AWS and Azure, with proven expertise in microservices, API management, event-driven design, and Infrastructure as Code. Knowledge of compliance frameworks such as GDPR, CCPA, and HIPAA in cloud environments is essential. A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is required; a master’s degree or cloud certifications (AWS/Azure) are preferred.
Work Environment
This role operates in a hybrid model for employees within 30 miles of the home office, combining in-office collaboration with flexible remote work. The position may require additional on-site presence during initial onboarding.
Compensation & Benefits
The annual base salary ranges from $160,000 to $210,000, with incentive plans available.
