Responsibilities
- Lead platform architecture design, guiding evolution toward a cloud-native, stateless, load-balanced system with managed data, using incremental cutover instead of full rewrites.
- Advance service-oriented architecture to ensure services are testable, independently deployable, and scalable.
- Manage the data platform, overseeing PostgreSQL (Aurora) schema, architecture, performance, and migration while ensuring data integrity.
- Oversee AWS cloud infrastructure, including managed PostgreSQL, networking, load balancing, and managed services.
- Implement infrastructure as code to enable reproducible, version-controlled environments instead of manual server setup.
- Own CI/CD pipelines, building end-to-end automation for builds, testing, and zero-downtime deployments using canary, blue/green, and rolling strategies.
- Use feature flags as standard practice to separate deployment from release.
- Establish source control standards using trunk-based development, short-lived branches, squash-merge, and required peer reviews on GitHub.
- Promote agentic coding as the default development method using tools like Claude Code and GitHub Copilot.
- Elevate team capabilities through coaching, pair programming, and establishing safe, effective patterns for AI-assisted development.
- Define review, testing, and trust protocols for AI-generated code in a mission-critical financial settlement system.
- Ensure full-stack observability with application monitoring, error tracking, and product analytics.
- Support live operations, incident response, and ongoing improvements by integrating modern practices progressively.
- Ensure production reliability by leading automated testing, root-cause analysis, and implementation of durable fixes for complex issues.
- Design resilient systems with built-in fault tolerance and self-healing capabilities to enable graceful degradation and recovery.
- Carefully manage changes that affect settlement accuracy by staging and validating each expansion of risk surface.
- Set technical direction, defining engineering standards for coding, review, branching, testing, and quality assurance.
- Mentor engineers across distributed India and US teams to strengthen expertise in cloud, delivery, and AI-assisted development.
- Collaborate with the CPTO and broader team to translate product and platform vision into technical execution and shared solutions.
