Zendesk is seeking a strategic and hands-on Principal, Pricing Strategy to drive the monetization of our products. In this role, you will investigate and evaluate pricing and packaging strategies to capitalize on market opportunities and accelerate company growth. You will collaborate with leaders across the organization to craft new business models, define strategies for new offerings, and optimize existing product monetization.
What You'll Do
- Develop and optimize long-term pricing and packaging strategies by collaborating with Product Management, Product Marketing, GTM, Finance, and IT.
- Make informed, data-driven recommendations using structured problem-solving frameworks.
- Proactively identify opportunities to enhance our portfolio using market, competitive, customer, and stakeholder research.
- Identify new pricing models while understanding their complexity and implications for our existing customer base.
- Clearly communicate pricing concepts, influence senior leadership, and operationalize recommendations with cross-functional teams.
- Assist Product Operations in prioritizing launches and creating SKUs.
What We're Looking For
- 8+ years of relevant working experience.
- Strong analytical, strategic, communication, and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels and communicate complex concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize deadlines, and navigate complex stakeholder dynamics.
- Skilled at identifying and developing solutions to complex strategic and operational problems across functions.
- Ability to thrive in high-growth, performance-focused environments with frequent change.
- Intellectual curiosity, creative strategic thinking, and a passion for tackling complex challenges.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills, capable of translating complex data into actionable pricing strategies.
- Experience designing and leading qualitative and quantitative research to test pricing hypotheses.
- Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint (or equivalent).
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
Nice to Have
- 4+ years of SaaS Pricing Strategy experience.
- Experience in usage/consumption-based pricing models and/or monetizing AI.
- Prior management consulting, investment banking, corporate strategy, pricing/product strategy, or product management experience.
- MBA preferred.
Benefits & Compensation
- Compensation range: $166,000.00 - $248,000.00.
