Role Overview
Join a forward-thinking engineering team responsible for building and maintaining robust electrical systems in high-density computing environments. As a licensed Professional Engineer, you will lead electrical design efforts for power distribution infrastructure in data centers located across multiple continents. Your expertise will ensure systems meet rigorous safety, performance, and regulatory standards while supporting next-generation computing workloads.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce detailed CAD-based electrical drawings and technical specifications for medium and high-voltage power systems
- Perform load calculations, develop panel schedules, and design power distribution units, cable routing, and grounding systems
- Specify transformers, switchgear, cabling, and related equipment in alignment with national and international electrical codes
- Lead technical reviews, set engineering standards, and ensure designs meet project scope and budget requirements
- Support procurement by evaluating equipment specifications and technical compliance
- Monitor construction activities to verify installation quality and adherence to design and safety standards
- Oversee electrical testing and commissioning to validate system performance
- Conduct on-site safety audits and implement risk mitigation strategies to prevent equipment failure or operational hazards
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and project teams across the U.S. and Asia
- Travel regularly to project sites for design validation, troubleshooting, and technical oversight
Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with focus on power systems
- 3–8 years of experience in medium- and high-voltage power system design
- Proven knowledge of transformers, switchgear, grounding, harmonic analysis, arc flash, and power quality
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, power system modeling software, and MS Office
- Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and problem-solving ability
- Effective communication skills and experience working in multidisciplinary teams
- Willingness to travel to various international project locations
Preferred Experience
- 8–10 years of electrical engineering or project management experience
- Design experience with lightning protection and grounding systems
- Background in industrial or data center power infrastructure
Work Environment
This is an onsite role with assignments in multiple countries including the United States, Canada, Malaysia, Norway, Bhutan, and Ethiopia. The position requires significant travel to support project development and operations.
