CAI is seeking a Power BI Administrator for a full-time, remote contract position supporting a client in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago. You will be responsible for the overall operation of an enterprise-scale Power BI installation, managing fixes and enhancements while working closely with developers and business stakeholders.
What You'll Do
- Oversee the overall operation of an enterprise-scale Power BI installation, managing associated functional demands, fixes, and enhancements.
- Work closely with application/report developers and business subject matter experts to ensure requirements and security protocols are met.
- Manage and track break/fix and enhancement development by the report development team.
- Work with business stakeholders to design and build visual reports and dashboards using Power BI.
- Oversee Power BI development and administration.
- Continuously improve existing dashboards, reports, and datasets in collaboration with business users.
- Understand business requirements and develop optimized data models accordingly.
- Support the platform's build-out using Power BI for dashboards and operational reporting.
- Enable business partners to leverage Business Intelligence tools for their analytical needs.
- Perform other assigned duties.
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of experience with Power BI development, visualizations, and deployment.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Design, Statistics, or equivalent.
- 3+ years of experience with the Microsoft BI stack, including TSQL, PowerBI, Power Query, DAX, M, MDX, SSAS, SSRS, SSIS.
- Experience with configuration and management of Microsoft Power BI Service.
- 3+ years of experience extracting, manipulating, and analyzing data via Dataflows, DataMarts, Dashboards, and Apps.
- Demonstrated SQL development experience writing queries, procedures, and functions to create curated data for reporting.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- 1-2 years of experience documenting business requirements, processes, and workflows.
- Must be detail-oriented and able to work independently, prioritizing tasks effectively.
- 3+ years demonstrated experience working with relational databases: SQL Server.
- Ability to anticipate and proactively handle issues and adhere to SDLC standards.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, analytical, and time management skills.
- Ability to work without close supervision, keeping focused on short- and long-term objectives.
- Ability to successfully facilitate collaboration across multiple functions, IT teams, departments, and levels.
- Exhibit unwavering honesty and integrity.
Nice to Have
- Advanced level of MS Excel skills with knowledge of functions, macros, and VBA programming.
