The Pennsylvania State University is hiring a Postdoctoral Scholar in Computational Biology to join the Uzun Lab at the Penn State College of Medicine. This position focuses on developing and applying computational methods to advance research in Systems Biology, Epigenetic Gene Regulation, Single-Cell Genomics, and Cancer Biology.
What You'll Do
- Biomedical data analysis (40%): Perform statistical analysis of biomedical data using existing methods and custom code scripts.
- Bioinformatics method development (40%): Build computational and statistical frameworks to address novel biomedical research problems.
- Scholarly activities (10%): Generate academic outputs such as presentations, grant proposals, and manuscripts.
- Related tasks (10%): Fulfill other responsibilities assigned by the principal investigator.
What We're Looking For
- A PhD degree in Computer Science, Math, Statistics, or a related field, in hand at the time of hire.
- Life sciences PhDs (Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry, etc.) with computational experience are also eligible.
- PhD candidates who have submitted their doctoral thesis are welcome to apply.
Nice to Have
- Bioinformatics experience is preferred but not required.
Team & Environment
You will join the Uzun Lab within the Department of Pediatrics at the Penn State College of Medicine, reporting directly to the Principal Investigator.
