Boston University was looking for a Postdoctoral Associate

Boston University is hiring a Postdoctoral Associate to define the molecular and cellular mechanisms by which bacterial infections drive lymphatic vessel dysfunction and lymphedema progression. You will contribute to a multidisciplinary project employing a suite of advanced research techniques.

What You'll Do

  • Design and execute murine infection models and assess lymphatic vessel function.
  • Perform single-cell RNA sequencing, lineage tracing, and high-resolution calcium imaging experiments.
  • Analyze and interpret transcriptomic, imaging, and functional data.
  • Test pharmacological interventions and bacterial toxin inhibitors in vivo.
  • Collaborate with clinical and translational research teams.
  • Co-author manuscripts, present findings at scientific conferences, and contribute to grant preparation.
  • Mentor graduate students and research assistants.
  • Participate in laboratory meetings, journal clubs, and institutional seminars.
  • Contribute to manuscript and grant writing efforts.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience with murine infection models, particularly cutaneous or soft tissue infection models.
  • Proficiency in functional imaging techniques such as intravital imaging.
  • Familiarity with single-cell RNA sequencing, bioinformatics analysis, or lineage tracing approaches.
  • Experience with vessel isolation, ex vivo functional assays, or vascular smooth muscle cell biology.

Nice to Have

  • Expertise in bacterial pathogenesis, toxin biology, host-pathogen interactions, or pharmacological intervention studies.
  • Comfort working at the interface of microbiology, vascular biology, and immunology.
  • Experience conducting hypothesis-driven research with translational implications.

Technical Stack

  • Single-cell RNA sequencing
  • Lineage tracing
  • High-resolution functional imaging
  • Intravital imaging
  • Bioinformatics analysis
  • Murine infection models

Team & Environment

You'll join a multidisciplinary project and collaborate closely with clinical and translational research teams.

Benefits & Compensation

  • Salary: $70K
