The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services is hiring a Policy and Grant Management Program Coordinator to support our Reemployment Services Division. In this role, you will assist with updating current policies and managing the application and reporting processes for grants. This position requires strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
What You'll Do
- Update, revise, write, and publish State policies under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act.
- Advise the program Administrator, local areas, and local offices of policy updates.
- Complete in-person and virtual training of statewide NDOL Reemployment Services staff, local area administrative entity staff, and external service providers.
- Research and identify potential grant opportunities.
- Prepare, write, and submit grant proposals.
- Coordinate with internal teams to gather necessary information and documentation for grant applications.
- Ensure compliance with grant requirements and guidelines throughout the grant lifecycle.
- Monitor and report on the progress of grants.
- Other program duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- An Associate's degree in human services, behavioral sciences, social sciences, public administration, business administration, or a closely related field AND three years of experience in an employment, job development, or job training agency/program with responsibility for planning and coordinating program operations, or monitoring and evaluating delivery of program services.
- Related experience may substitute for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
- Must have a valid driver's license or the ability to provide independent authorized transportation.
- Knowledge of: Principles and techniques to develop statewide and local policy; applying for federal grants and managing the grant life cycle.
- Ability to: Communicate with government officials, program representatives, and service providers to explain and advocate program goals, policies, and plans; Provide technical assistance and training for program staff; Interact with state and federal program representatives and private industry representatives to establish consensus on service needs; Learn, interpret and apply federal legislation and state and agency regulations and policies to specific job training issues and decisions; write grant proposals and work with team to coordinate grant activities.
