Podcast Engineer
Join a respected media organization dedicated to strategy, defense, and foreign affairs as a Podcast Engineer. You'll be responsible for the full technical lifecycle of podcast production, ensuring every episode meets broadcast-level standards. Your work will directly shape the clarity, rhythm, and quality of conversations that reach influential audiences worldwide.
What You'll Do
- Edit and balance audio tracks to enhance speech intelligibility and maintain consistent pacing across episodes.
- Apply signal processing techniques—including equalization, dynamic range control, and background noise suppression—to improve audio fidelity.
- Assemble final episodes by incorporating show elements like intros, transitions, sponsor spots, and music beds.
- Prepare and deliver mastered files according to technical specifications and publishing timelines.
- Refine production workflows to support scalability and consistency across multiple series.
- Review recordings critically to ensure not only technical quality but also conversational flow and tonal coherence.
- Guide hosts and guests on microphone use, recording environments, and remote setup best practices.
- Ensure all audio content complies with licensing and intellectual property guidelines.
- Keep up with evolving tools, plugins, and production methods in the audio engineering space.
Requirements
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Must be located in or willing to relocate to Washington, DC

Work Environment
This is a hybrid role based in Washington, DC. Team members are expected in the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, with flexibility to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays. You'll collaborate within a small, high-impact team that values precision, creativity, and intellectual rigor.
