Xapo is looking for a Junior Platform Engineer to join our fully distributed team. In this role, you will help improve and maintain our cloud-native platform, focusing on enhancing self-serve functionality and driving automation to empower our developers.

What You'll Do

Maintain and improve a cloud-native platform.
Expand the platform's self-service capabilities, allowing engineering teams to manage their resources and workflows independently.
Aggressively automate manual processes to reduce toil, increase reliability, and improve developer efficiency.
Ensure the platform remains highly observable, scalable, and secure as it evolves.
Monitor and proactively manage the infrastructure to meet its requirements.
Ensure continuous service availability and operational integrity 24/7, which includes participation in a compensated on-call rotation.

What We're Looking For

A foundational understanding of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
A foundational understanding of Cloud Providers, primarily AWS (ECS, RDS, SQS, etc.) and some GCP (Cloud Run, BigQuery, etc.).
A foundational understanding of Containerization (Docker).
A foundational understanding of CI/CD & Automation (e.g., GitHub Actions).
A foundational understanding of Monitoring & Observability tools (e.g., Coralogix).
Scripting skills in Python and Bash.
Ability and eagerness to contribute to solving common platform issues using established procedures.
Ability to identify opportunities for automation within solutions.
Teamwork and clear communication skills.
A natural inclination to automate repetitive tasks and continuously look for ways to make processes more efficient.
