About the Role
Role details below.
Responsibilities
- Lead the global platform team and set the technical direction for how we build, deploy, and operate everything.
- Own the platform infrastructure that supports 90M+ monthly sessions across 8 countries.
- Drive a major architectural shift: modernizing the tech stack, consolidating legacy systems, and going AI-native across engineering.
- Scale the platform to support a rapidly evolving product.
- Ensure the platform enables faster development across product and engineering teams.
- Shape how the company operates for the next decade through AI-integrated development and infrastructure.
Requirements
- Proven experience leading platform engineering at high-traffic scale (100M+ sessions, multi-region, cloud-native).
- Deep understanding of distributed systems, microservices, and developer experience.
- Experience leading teams through major architectural transitions without losing speed or burning people out.
- Genuine excitement about AI as infrastructure, not just a buzzword.
- Production experience shipping AI/ML systems safely and at scale.
- High bar for reliability: 99.9%+ uptime as a baseline, not a target.
- Experience building developer platforms that dramatically increase engineering productivity.
- Strong focus on internal tooling, CI/CD, observability, and standards as core products.
- Ability to partner effectively with product and experience teams, not act as a bottleneck.
- Proven track record of attracting, developing, and retaining exceptional engineering talent.
- Experience operating across multiple regions and markets, with understanding of compliance, data residency, and localization at scale.
Nice to Have
- Experience with AI-native engineering at scale.
- Vision for radical simplicity in architecture over complexity for its own sake.
- Openness to bold ideas such as running on own hardware vs. AWS, or going all-in on cloud-native.
- Experience with monorepo strategies to avoid distributed system mess.
