OPG was looking for a Planning and Scheduling Technician

OPG is looking for a Planning and Scheduling Technician to join our team in Cornwall, ON. Reporting to the Planning Officer, you will play a key technical role in supporting safe and efficient project execution through detailed planning, scheduling, and cost control.

What You'll Do

  • Provide technical planning assistance by recommending logical work sequences and appropriate cost/resource allocation.
  • Identify and resolve potential problems, recommending improvements to processes and resource allocation.
  • Deliver scheduling and cost control services by monitoring conditions to develop final logic, prepare cost flows, resource-level schedules, and long-term plans.
  • Initiate work protection applications, review drawings, and obtain material requirements.
  • Monitor schedule and work program progress via job site visits, identifying variances using work management system reports.
  • Facilitate meetings, record minutes, follow up on action items, and provide status reports.
  • Prepare diagrams, reports, and networks reflecting planned work, sequencing, timelines, and constraints.
  • Maintain accurate records for official documentation and support system improvements by specifying and testing changes.

What We're Looking For

  • Grade 12 plus up to two years of study in a related field (or international equivalents).
  • Completion of a Mechanical or Electrical trades apprenticeship or operating training.
  • A minimum of 2+ years of experience in a planning and scheduling role.

Team & Environment

You will report directly to the Planning Officer and collaborate with various groups to coordinate resources and ensure project success.

Benefits & Compensation

  • Hourly rate: $41.77 - $64.60 per hour.

This is an onsite position based in Cornwall, ON.
