Lead the planning and scheduling function for major industrial construction initiatives within a self-performing, employee-owned organization. In this role, you will develop comprehensive project timelines, facilitate planning workshops, and ensure schedule integrity across engineering, procurement, and field operations. Your work directly supports project delivery by maintaining alignment with client requirements and internal performance benchmarks.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate collaborative planning sessions to define work sequences, labor demands, and critical path activities
- Develop, maintain, and update integrated project schedules using Primavera P6 (v15.1 or later), including baseline management and progress tracking
- Monitor project execution against the schedule, identifying variances and recommending recovery paths
- Generate and analyze resource loading, craft productivity metrics, and physical percent-complete data
- Coordinate scheduling interfaces with clients, subcontractors, and supporting disciplines
- Conduct routine site observations to validate progress inputs and ensure data accuracy
- Extract cost and earned value data from ERP platforms to support performance reporting
- Support proposal planning with realistic scheduling frameworks and resource projections
- Uphold a strong safety culture by identifying and reporting potential hazards
Qualifications
A successful candidate will hold a high school diploma and bring at least five years of hands-on project controls experience in construction environments. Proficiency in Primavera P6, advanced Excel skills, and fluency with MS Office are essential. You must demonstrate precision in data handling, strong organizational abilities, and the capacity to lead planning discussions across diverse teams.
Post-secondary education or relevant certifications are advantageous. Prior experience in pharmaceutical, semiconductor, petrochemical, or mechanical process industries is highly valued. Familiarity with managing multi-site teams or remote workforces strengthens candidacy.
