Tenet Healthcare is seeking a Physical Therapist to join our team. Under the general supervision of the department supervisor, you will treat patients using standard physical therapy procedures, evaluate capabilities, document findings, and develop home care programs within our supportive and collaborative environment.
What You'll Do
- Treat patients using standard physical therapy procedures such as heat, cold, electricity, traction, ultrasound, and exercise.
- Evaluate patient’s motor and neurological capabilities and document findings.
- Assist patients in rehabilitative exercise programs and instruct them in the use of rehabilitative equipment such as braces, splints, and ambulation aides.
- Administer and interpret a variety of tests to evaluate the motor and neurological capabilities of patients.
- Document patient treatments, initial evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries in accordance with departmental policies and service line protocols.
- Co-sign notes written by physical therapy assistants, aides, and/or students.
- Develop home care programs for patients and provide instruction to families during hospitalization and upon discharge.
- Attend interdisciplinary meetings and various conferences to report on patient’s progress; consult regularly with other service line team members regarding patient treatment.
- Oversee, instruct, and evaluate physical therapy assistants, aids, students, and/or volunteers, as assigned.
- Maintain equipment and supplies in assigned treatment areas; recommend the purchase of supplies and/or equipment, as needed.
- Maintain professional expertise through workshops, lectures, conferences, departmental, and service line meetings to remain current on treatment techniques.
- Serve as a member of a designated service line.
- Assist in the implementation of programs and services to foster an interdisciplinary approach and a service line system of care.

What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy or certification from an accredited physical therapy program.
- Current license to practice as a Physical Therapist in the State of Michigan.

You will report to a Supervisor, Physical Therapy, and work within a service line system and an interdisciplinary team focused on patient care.
