Cigna Healthcare is hiring a Pharmacy Account Management Senior Manager to serve as the leader of pharmacy benefits strategy and main subject matter expert for National Segment clients. You will partner with Cigna Medical Sales leadership and be responsible for client retention, growth, and managing a team of Pharmacy Clinical Account Managers and/or Pharmacy Account Executives.
What You'll Do
- Retain your assigned book of business through proactive portfolio management, leveraging pharmacy pricing strategies, competitive intel, products, and performance guarantees.
- Collaborate constantly with the Medical sales team, internal pharmacy matrix partners, clients, and brokers to optimize the pharmacy benefit and ensure optimal penetration of preferred programs.
- Provide primary pharmacy support on key strategic clients as needed.
- Create and execute a strategy to continually educate and advance the knowledge of pharmacy within the Cigna Medical sales organization.
- Develop and maintain a specific pharmacy business plan outlining sales and training strategies for your assigned markets.
- Offer and successfully sell a suite of pharmacy management programs and solutions that align to lowering total health costs.
- Provide strong and consistent leadership to your pharmacy team, consisting of Clinical Account Managers and/or Pharmacy Account Executives.
- Ensure success of new client pharmacy implementations, renewals, and benefit plan changes to optimize client readiness.
- Optimize aligned human resources to deliver upon service model commitments.
- Develop and execute market-specific pharmacy service plans for the National, Government & Education and Special Markets.
- Manage the assignment of clients to team members.
- Provide management and support for your assigned pharmacy team, including hiring, onboarding, training, and coaching.
- Understand market competition and assist in new client sales strategies and existing client retention and development strategies.
- Maintain comprehensive and current knowledge of Cigna Pharmacy Management’s products, programs, and processes.
- Leverage consultative selling strategies to help the Medical Sales team bring in new integrated business and carve-in Pharmacy for current Medical-only clients.
- Understand market trends and competitive dynamics to create tailored approaches that meet market needs.
- Build and maintain key broker and consultant relationships as the market lead pharmacy subject matter expert.
- Represent the Cigna Pharmacy Extended Leadership Team at assigned market strategy meetings, team meetings, and other business planning sessions.
- Participate in various internal Cigna Pharmacy work groups, forums, and stakeholder teams to provide market and client feedback.
- Lead the planning and strategy around client RFPs and bids, including crafting winning pricing strategies and finalist meeting preparation.
- Ensure your Pharmacy resources develop a clear understanding of each assigned client’s needs, goals, and objectives.
- Educate the Pharmacy and Medical Sales Teams to provide strategic pharmacy management options that control client costs and deliver value.
- Serve as the Pharmacy Leadership Team member that advises and supports Medical sales teams with triaging escalated pharmacy issues.
- Enact appropriate quality control processes within your assigned team to ensure successful new client implementations, renewals, and plan changes.
What We're Looking For
- 10 years or more of PBM experience, preferably in a role supporting client expectations and strategic market planning and execution.
- Experience with and mastery of consultative client management methodologies.
- Demonstrated qualities of ownership, accountability, and responsibility.
- Knowledge of PBM pricing and client contracting strategies.
- Strong operational understanding and competence with PBM clinical programs and product offerings.
- Ability to work independently and strategically. A history of being able to create a business plan and execute upon it.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent presentation skills in high visibility group settings.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of programs.
- Ability to review, analyze, and draw conclusions and/or recommendations from large data sets.
- Strong collaboration and relationship building skills.
- Proven ability to influence and sell products, programs, and services. Results and outcomes driven.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time, at times with little advance notice.

- Experience in Government & Education, Taft-Hartley and Exchange business segments.

You will lead a team of Pharmacy Clinical Account Manager(s) and/or Pharmacy Account Executive(s), serving as the leader of pharmacy benefits strategy working in partnership with Cigna Medical Sales organization leadership. This role is part of Cigna Pharmacy Management and works closely with the leadership of the Cigna Medical Sales organization and Pharmacy Sales Directors.

- Salary range: $133,700 - $222,800 USD yearly
