Cardinal Health is hiring a Pharmacist, Remote Evening to support prescription processing for our specialty pharmacy. In this 100% remote role, you'll verify and process medication orders specific to treating renal disease. The schedule includes Monday through Friday evening hours and every other weekend.
What You'll Do
- Apply expert drug knowledge to verify physician orders using the pharmacy information system.
- Check drug and dose against patient issues and address automated system alerts.
- Enter and validate medication orders via system emulation capabilities.
- Prioritize orders based on queue time and status, such as STAT orders.
- Comply with State Board of Pharmacy rules, Remote Pharmacy Services policies, and client facility procedures.
- Communicate professionally with colleagues, patients, and healthcare providers.
- Perform clarifications, interventions, and provide accurate drug information.
- Answer pharmacy telephone calls and accept referring calls.
- Obtain and maintain all required initial state licensure in good standing within the designated timeframe.
- Assist with training and education for new and existing team members as assigned.
- Review orders entered by pharmacy technicians or clerks for accuracy and appropriateness.
- Attend required staff meetings and training sessions periodically.
- Complete all required training and competencies in a timely manner.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
What We're Looking For
- Active Pharmacist License in the State of Tennessee (TN).
Nice to Have
- 1-2 years of relevant pharmacist experience.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent work experience.
