Transport for London (TfL) is looking for a Pensions Finance Manager to take ownership of the TfL Pension Fund's financial accounting system, investment accounting, records, and processes. Your work will ensure the integrity of financial data, effective cash management, and accurate reporting for the Trustee Board.
What You'll Do
- Provide full financial accounting support, ensuring appropriate accounting policies are in place.
- Support the preparation of the Fund's Annual Reports and Accounts, annual budget, cash flow forecasts, and quarterly financial and investment reports.
- Carry out periodic financial reporting and analytics, preparing supporting schedules for year-end accounts.
- Monitor investment transactions for compliance with criteria set out in Investment Managers' and Global Custodian mandates.
- Ensure all investment transactions are correctly processed and recorded by the Global Custodian and Investment Managers.
- Manage processes to ensure all payments are made in accordance with TfL Pension Fund procedures.
- Maintain and operate financial systems and procedures for the Fund's sectionalised structure, facilitating unitisation and quarterly unit price calculation.
- Prepare the Fund's tax, VAT, Office of National Statistics, and other statutory returns.
- Manage the performance of a team.
- Manage the Fund's cash flow to ensure all benefit payments, invoices, and investment payments are made in a timely manner.
- Oversee the treasury function and work closely with the in-house investment team, investment managers, and the Global Custodian on investment transactions.
What We're Looking For
- A recognised accounting qualification (CCAB or equivalent) or substantial progress towards one.
- Proven experience in Pension accounting and Investment accounting.
- Substantial experience reviewing and reconciling Global Custodian investment accounts to Investment Managers' reports.
- Substantial experience reviewing and reconciling account balances on computerised systems.
- Experience taking accounting, systems, or process issues to resolution.
