Role Overview
As a Payroll Specialist, you will manage the end-to-end payroll control cycle for employees in the Netherlands, with a focus on precision, compliance, and timely execution. You will serve as the go-to expert for international payroll matters, including expatriate and impatriate cases, ensuring alignment with Dutch regulations and internal policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and verify monthly payroll runs, conducting thorough validations and audits to ensure accuracy
- Act as the main point of contact for internal teams, employees, and external payroll providers
- Manage complex payroll scenarios and provide second-line support when needed
- Ensure correct and timely reporting and payments to tax authorities and pension institutions
- Collaborate with the People Services Center in India and external partners to maintain data integrity and service standards
- Analyze payroll data to detect risks, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement
- Contribute to process optimization projects and post-payroll evaluations
- Support cross-functional initiatives aimed at standardization and operational excellence
Qualifications
- Completed bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
- Minimum of four years in payroll operations, preferably in a multinational setting
- In-depth understanding of Dutch payroll legislation, compliance frameworks, and control requirements
- Proven experience handling international assignments and cross-border payroll
- Fluent in both Dutch and English
- Strong proficiency in Excel for managing and analyzing large datasets
- Demonstrated analytical thinking, attention to detail, and structured work approach
- Self-driven, proactive, and capable of delivering under tight deadlines
- Experience working in international, collaborative teams
Work Environment
This role operates in a hybrid model, requiring presence in the Amsterdam office approximately 60% of the time.
