Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary compliance owner for assigned countries or regions.
- Act as the authoritative resource on payroll compliance within designated jurisdictions.
- Ensure local legal requirements are accurately interpreted and integrated into processes, systems, and customer-facing workflows.
- Integrate regional legislation into product functionality and system design.
- Convert statutory regulations, tax rules, payroll logic, thresholds, and exceptions into clear technical requirements for Product and Engineering teams.
- Collaborate with Product Design to build compliant, user-friendly, and auditable interfaces.
- Evaluate product specifications, test scenarios, and outputs to verify legal accuracy.
- Manage complex compliance audits and regulatory programs.
- Lead end-to-end execution of high-risk or multi-country audits, from planning through resolution.
- Develop standardized audit frameworks that support scalability across new and existing regions.
- Analyze compliance issues to identify root causes and implement systemic fixes.
- Lead investigations and resolution of compliance-related incidents.
- Act as the main point of escalation for regional compliance matters, assisting incident managers in timely resolution.
- Work across departments to resolve incidents efficiently and establish lasting corrective and preventative measures.
- Design and maintain compliance processes and governance structures.
- Develop clear, repeatable, and well-documented procedures for payroll compliance operations.
- Build controls, standard operating procedures, and monitoring tools to ensure sustained compliance.
- Harmonize global policies with local regulations while promoting consistency across markets.
- Produce training content, compliance guidance, and rule documentation to strengthen internal capabilities.
- Deliver regular training sessions, lead learning initiatives, and mentor payroll specialists and team leads.
- Maintain comprehensive, up-to-date documentation of compliance rules, workflows, and system logic.
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Legal, Support, and Customer Success teams to embed compliance in strategic decisions.
- Drive stakeholder satisfaction above 90% by being proactive, responsive, and focused on solutions.
