Deel is hiring a Payroll Implementation Manager based in Spain to join our mission of unlocking global opportunity. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the successful implementation and data migration of payroll systems for our clients, ensuring a seamless transition through accurate data transfer and proper system configuration.
What You'll Do
- Lead and manage the end-to-end implementation of a global payroll system, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.
- Work with onboarding teams and clients to organize kick-off meetings and deliver the implementation.
- Create, maintain, and manage project plans for successful client roll-outs.
- Oversee the migration of payroll data from legacy systems, ensuring data accuracy and security.
- Define, agree, and configure all interfaces, reports, and systems configurations for parallel and live payroll.
- Set priorities and manage the project autonomously with regular status reporting to senior leadership.
- Gather key requirements from clients and guide them through technical payroll aspects of onboarding.
- Schedule and attend weekly client calls to report on project status, identifying risks, actions, issues, and dependencies.
- Collaborate with HR, Finance, and other stakeholders to gather payroll requirements.
- Ensure all payroll processes adhere to local tax and labor laws, keeping up-to-date with any changes.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive testing plan to identify and resolve system issues.
- Act as the point of contact for all payroll project matters for the client.
- Generate reports to analyze, audit, and reconcile payroll data.
- Implement change management strategies to ensure a seamless transition for employees and HR teams.
- Maintain detailed project documentation, including project plans, status reports, and process documentation.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in global payroll implementation and payroll operations.
- Strong knowledge of payroll processes and compliance across your designated location.
- Experience with payroll systems and software.
- Client-facing project management experience and ability to manage multiple projects.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
Nice to Have
- Project management certification (e.g., PMP) is a plus.
- Master’s degree preferred.
