Role Overview
As a Payroll Coordinator, you'll play a key role in ensuring accurate and on-time compensation for employees throughout Canada. This 12-month contract position centers on managing multiple payroll cycles, maintaining strict compliance with government regulations, and upholding internal controls to support reliable financial operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage various payroll schedules, applying established controls and conducting audits to ensure consistency and accuracy.
- Verify compliance of payroll systems with federal and provincial legal requirements.
- Produce clear documentation and generate reports to support payroll processes and audits.
- Conduct pre-transmission reviews of payroll data to safeguard accuracy and adherence to internal standards.
- Respond to employee inquiries, resolve issues efficiently, and escalate when necessary to HR partners.
- Support year-end processes including finalizations, tax form preparation, and submission of required government filings.
- Process HR-related payments, including supplier invoices and purchase orders, with precision.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Finance, or a related business field.
- Demonstrated focus on accuracy, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Organized and proactive, with the ability to manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced setting.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach to internal support.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word; experience with SAP R/3 is an asset.
- Bilingual French and English skills are preferred.
- Comfort working under tight deadlines with a commitment to precision.

Compensation and Benefits
