Back Market is hiring a Payroll and People Operations Specialist

Back Market is looking for a Payroll and People Operations Specialist to join our System and Payroll team in Barcelona. You will play a key role in automating people operations and expanding our in-house payroll expertise, supporting our mission to make technology reliable, affordable, and better than new.

What You'll Do

• Deliver accurate payroll runs for 90+ Spanish employees and potentially UK and German employees via a payroll provider.
• Depending on your profile, deliver payroll for French employees using our internal system with ADP Decidium.
• Participate in payroll and benefit impacts throughout the entire employee lifecycle.
• Engage with external payroll providers, benefits vendors, and local administration as needed.
• Leverage tools including Workday, Papaya Global, and potentially ADP Decidium.
• Ensure employees receive swift and friendly assistance by answering questions, resolving issues, and proactively communicating changes.
• Get trained in automating People Operations with Workday and potentially Dust, an AI tool.
• Automate the production of all required HR documents, such as contracts and certificates.
• Prepare documents needed by HR Business Partners and Recruiters with team support.
• Continuously seek opportunities to improve operational efficiency.

What We're Looking For

• Graduated from a degree in Human Resources, Payroll, Accounting, or Finance.
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience in Spanish payroll.
• Strong communication skills.
• Proficient with Excel/Gsheet.
• Structured, thorough, with strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
• English proficiency.

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of Workday, ADP Decidium, or Papaya Global is a strong plus.
• Previous experience in automating administrative tasks.
• Experience working in a fast-growing and international environment.
