About the Role
The Payroll Accountant will be responsible for processing payroll, maintaining records, ensuring compliance with local and international tax laws, and supporting audits and financial reviews.
Responsibilities
- Calculate employee wages, deductions, and bonuses accurately
- Process payroll for global teams on a regular schedule
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations across multiple jurisdictions
- Maintain up-to-date payroll records and documentation
- Collaborate with HR on employee data changes
- Prepare and submit tax filings and statutory reports
- Respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees
- Support internal and external audits
- Reconcile payroll data with general ledger entries
- Monitor payroll system performance and accuracy
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in payment records
- Implement improvements to payroll processes
- Stay current with changes in labor and tax legislation
- Assist in year-end financial reporting
- Ensure data confidentiality and security
- Work with international teams across time zones
- Support onboarding and offboarding payroll setup
- Track paid time off and leave balances
- Generate recurring and ad hoc payroll reports
- Coordinate with third-party payroll providers when needed
