Mass General Brigham is looking for a per diem Patient Transporter to facilitate the safe and efficient movement of patients, medical equipment, and supplies within our healthcare facility. You will coordinate transportation logistics and maintain a high standard of professionalism and customer service, supporting a team dedicated to exceptional patient care.
What You'll Do
- Safely transport patients within the facility, including to departments like radiology, surgery, and physical therapy.
- Assist patients with boarding and disembarking from transportation vehicles, ensuring their comfort.
- Transport medical equipment, supplies, and specimens between departments and storage areas.
- Ensure proper handling and care of delicate and sensitive equipment.
- Adhere to infection control and safety protocols while handling materials.
- Coordinate transportation requests and schedules to ensure prompt and efficient service.
- Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to prioritize and accommodate urgent requests.
What We're Looking For
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and staff.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to follow directions, work independently, and demonstrate sound judgment.
- Knowledge of infection control and safety protocols related to patient transport.
- Basic computer skills for record-keeping and documentation.
Nice to Have
- 1-2 years of experience in transportation, preferably in a healthcare or customer service environment.
