Hackensack Meridian Health is hiring a Patient Safety Sitter to support our professional nursing staff by providing direct observation and ensuring a safe environment for patients. In this role, you will work under the direction of a Registered Nurse, assisting with patients experiencing behavioral changes and helping to maintain their safety and dignity.
What You'll Do
- Be responsible for patient safety under the Registered Nurse's direction.
- Observe patient status for changes in behavior and report all observations to the Registered Nurse.
- Ensure patient safety by providing a safe environment, observing for risks, and taking steps to reduce them.
- Apply appropriate interventions including observation, redirection, and diversional activities.
- Work in situations with isolation precautions.
- Ensure positive patient and team interactions by promoting HMH core beliefs and standards.
- Maintain patient confidentiality, privacy, and dignity.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- A High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs (or in progress).
- An AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification within 60 days of entering the position.
Nice to Have
- Previous experience in a setting with direct patient contact.

You will work under the direct supervision and direction of a Registered Nurse.
Benefits & Compensation
- Compensation starts at $17.12 per hour.
