DaVita, which is Italian for 'giving life,' is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to provide safe, comfortable, and hygienic dialysis treatment for patients with end-stage renal disease. You will be a vital part of an outpatient dialysis center, working directly with patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
What You'll Do
- Provide direct one-on-one patient care for dialysis treatment.
- Monitor patients before, during, and after dialysis treatment, measuring and recording vital stats and observations.
- Set up hemodialysis machines.
- Build long-term relationships with patients receiving treatment approximately 3 times/week.
- Educate patients on kidney dialysis related topics.
- Care for multiple patients simultaneously.
- Work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).
What We're Looking For
- Desire to enter the health care field to care for other people in need.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be comfortable working around blood and needles.
- Must be comfortable mixing acid or bicarb.
- Physical and mental ability to work long hours (some shifts are 12+ hours) on your feet.
- Willingness to train and work across multiple clinics within the territory as needed.
- Flexible schedule to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Nice to Have
- Health care experience a plus including: BONENT Certified, Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or Phlebotomy certification.
Team & Environment
You will join a cross-functional team of clinicians including technicians, nurses, dietitians, social workers, and leadership, reporting directly to a Registered Nurse (RN).
