About the Role

DMC Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan, part of Tenet Healthcare, seeks a Patient Care Technician to provide individualized, culture-specific patient care. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, you will attend to personal needs and comfort while assisting the nursing team with delegated tasks.

What You'll Do

  • Perform or assist with activities of daily living (ADL), including bathing, dressing, oral hygiene, hair care, toileting, and feeding.
  • Obtain and document vital signs, pulse oximetry, height/weight, and intake/output, reporting findings to the RN.
  • Provide Gastrointestinal/Genitourinary care, such as Foley catheter care, enemas, and assisting with bedpans or ambulation.
  • Maintain the patient's environment by changing linen, straightening rooms, and updating the patient whiteboard.
  • Participate in Hourly Rounding by responding to needs, positioning patients, reporting pain, and communicating changes in condition.
  • Respond to call lights in a self-directed manner.
  • Perform clerical or unit clerk duties as assigned.
  • Promote an organized, efficient, and smoothly functioning unit.
  • Support regional, facility, department, and unit initiatives.

What We're Looking For

  • A High School Diploma/GED or a valid CNA or PCA/PCT Certificate.
  • CPR Certification/Licensure.
  • Excellent customer service and strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Knowledge of patient rights, aseptic/sterile technique, and infection control best practices.

Nice to Have

  • One year of experience as a nursing assistant in an acute care setting.
  • CNA/LNA from the Arizona State Board of Nursing.
  • EKG training (required in selected units).

Team & Environment

You will work under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse as part of a collaborative healthcare team focused on patient-centered rehabilitation.
