Purdue University is hiring a Parking Enforcement Attendant to maintain order and support the campus community. In this role, you will enforce parking rules and regulations across campus, patrol areas, answer questions, provide directions, and issue citations. You’ll work with various departments and assist with operational issues, contributing to a smooth campus experience.
What You'll Do
- Enforce University parking rules and regulations.
- Patrol assigned areas on foot and by vehicle.
- Answer questions regarding parking and provide directions to parking areas and campus buildings.
- Issue tickets for parking violations, arrange for vehicle towing, immobilize vehicles on tow lists or with invalid permits, and remove wheel locks.
- Use handhelds and printers to issue citations and maintain equipment.
- Use radio for daily communication.
- Assist with meter monies collection as needed.
- Perform annual parking inventory survey.
- Assist with operational issues at the Grant Street Garage.
- Overtime, evening, and weekend work may be required.
What We're Looking For
- High School Degree or High School Equivalency (HSE).
- Three (3) years of work experience with two (2) years directly related to parking operations and one (1) year in customer service and maintenance experience.
- A valid US or Canadian driver’s license that must be maintained.
- Knowledge of University Parking and Traffic Regulations.
- Ability to use sound judgment and work independently.
- Ability to maintain, troubleshoot, and correct equipment.
- Ability to use computer programs such as Microsoft Word and Outlook.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Maintain a safe driving record.
- Possess a learning orientation to changing technology.
- Have the ability to lift and carry 10 to 25 lbs. frequently, and up to 40 lbs. occasionally.
- Be able to work outdoors in all seasons in temperatures below 32 degrees and above 90 degrees.
