MyFlorida, through the Department of Management Services, is looking for an OPS Resource Management Technician (Park Ranger) to join the team at Terra Ceia Preserve State Park. You will play a direct role in restoring and managing native ecosystems through integrated vegetation management. This is a full-time, 40-hour per week position requiring rotating shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
What You'll Do
- Accomplish annual invasive plant management goals by correctly identifying and removing non-native plants through mechanical and/or chemical means.
- Perform daily preventive and corrective maintenance on all equipment and assigned vehicles, communicating maintenance needs to management.
- Track daily progress on data sheets and enter into a database, accurately reporting acreage covered, treatment details, hours, location, species, and species coverage.
- Participate in other resource management activities, including restoration and prescribed burning.
- Communicate and coordinate treatments effectively with the park team.
What We're Looking For
- Valid Driver’s license.
Technical Stack
- GPS devices and Avenza maps for navigation and data tracking.
- Hand, power, and gas tools for mechanical removal.
- Herbicide sprayers for chemical treatments.
- All-wheel drive equipment, tractors, 4x4 trucks, and ATV/UTVs for field operations.
Benefits & Compensation
- Hourly compensation of $16-$18, commensurate with experience.
