Hyundai USA is hiring a Paint Process Engineering Specialist

Responsibilities

  • Establish performance goals for the paint facility, including production volume, quality metrics, and vehicle production time, and lead initiatives to meet them.
  • Evaluate manufacturing and quality data to enhance output efficiency and finish standards.
  • Assess operational throughput and implement improvements to increase production rates.
  • Evaluate proposals for additional investments aimed at upgrading paint systems or reducing costs.
  • Supervise and guide operator teams, including performance feedback, training, and team management.
  • Provide updates on key project milestones to management or assigned coordinators.
  • Notify supervisors or relevant departments of any deviations in product or process quality.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Monitor and manage construction timelines for paint facility development or upgrades.
  • Prepare for new model integration, including equipment readiness and facility adjustments.
  • Oversee inspection and progress tracking for new model implementation in the paint area.
  • Support new vehicle development activities and prepare production systems accordingly.
  • Manage the installation and testing of new equipment related to advanced technologies.
  • Lead replacement projects for outdated systems, including conveyors, robots, and automation, and oversee trial operations.
  • Analyze production and quality performance during new model launch and implement corrective actions.
  • Document and report significant operational issues within the paint facility.
  • Review procurement requirements and logistics for new vehicle production, including customs and shipping.
  • Drive process improvements through data analysis, tool optimization, and adoption of automation or outsourcing strategies.
  • Create and execute cost-saving initiatives across labor, materials, energy, and operational inefficiencies.
  • Identify and adopt innovative control methods and best practices from other operations.
  • Plan and execute staffing strategies for the paint department.
  • Design and manage employee development and training programs.
  • Enhance working conditions and promote environmental improvements in the paint area.
  • Enforce safety regulations and respond to compliance concerns.
  • Foster collaboration with other production units to ensure smooth communication and operations.
