About the Role

Hyundai USA is hiring a Paint Process Engineering Specialist to set targets and drive improvement in our first dedicated EV mass-production paint plant, a facility utilizing cutting-edge production technology. In this role, you will analyze production data to enhance quality and productivity, oversee new model introductions, and manage operator training and performance.

What You'll Do

  • Set and oversee achievement of targets for production units, quality, and efficiency in the paint plant.
  • Analyze production and quality data to improve productivity and car paint quality.
  • Manage projects for new model introductions, including facility modifications and tool preparation.
  • Oversee, inspect, and manage new model project progress and vehicle development events.
  • Manage the installation and trial runs of new or replacement facilities, including conveyor systems and robots.
  • Analyze data during new car production and develop countermeasures for quality and productivity enhancement.
  • Report major task progress, product nonconformities, and any plant issues.
  • Review purchase specifications for new vehicles and manage related processes like customs clearance.
  • Promote and implement process changes to optimize manufacturing.
  • Develop and execute strategies to reduce labor, material, and energy costs.
  • Coordinate and supervise operator work, providing performance feedback and training.
  • Develop recruitment plans for the paint plant team and implement employee training programs.
  • Improve the plant environment, prevent safety accidents, and address safety regulations.
  • Build rapport with other manufacturing units and strengthen organizational communication.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to technicians.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Material Engineering.
  • 2+ years of job-related experience.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office products or equivalent applications.
  • Deep understanding of external markets and current trends.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in data analysis and developing proposals.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Must communicate with Hyundai/Kia Motor Company employees on business matters.
  • Domestic and international travel is required.
  • Strong command of the English language (written and spoken).

Nice to Have

  • Job experience related to the automotive industry, specifically an automotive paint plant.
  • Working experience managing projects related to paint facilities, conveyor systems, and robots.
  • Fluency in Korean.
