Fresenius Medical Care North America is hiring an Outpatient Registered Nurse - RN (CAP 1). This entry-level role within our Clinical Advancement Program (CAP) focuses on providing and coordinating clinically competent care for patients with End Stage Kidney Disease (ESKD). You will be responsible for assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation as part of the ESKD healthcare team.
What You'll Do
- Perform systematic collection and analysis of patient data pre, during, and post hemodialysis treatment, document in the medical record, and adjust the treatment plan as needed.
- Assess, collaborate, and document patient and family learning needs to provide initial and ongoing education.
- Direct and provide all aspects of the daily safe and effective delivery of hemodialysis therapy to assigned patients.
- Administer medications as prescribed or per approved algorithms, documenting medical justification and effectiveness.
- Initiate or assist with emergency response measures.
- Serve as a resource for the healthcare team and participate in staff training and orientation.
- Ensure correct laboratory collection, processing, and shipping procedures are performed.
- Identify expected outcomes and document/update nursing assessments and plans of care through Interdisciplinary Team collaboration.
- Ensure patient awareness of transplant and treatment modality options.
- Complete CAP requirements to advance.
What We're Looking For
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Current appropriate state licensure.
- Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification.
- Must meet the practice requirements in the state of employment.
- Entry level for RNs with less than 2 years of Nephrology Nursing experience.
- For FTN Group-International RN: Bachelor’s degree in nursing required and either a CGFNS Visa Screen Certificate, an NCLEX pass letter, or a Registered Nursing License in the state of intended employment.
Nice to Have
- Chronic or acute hemodialysis experience.
Team & Environment
You will be a member of the End Stage Kidney Disease (ESKD) health care team and may delegate tasks to direct patient care staff including RNs, LVN/LPNs, and Patient Care Technicians. You will perform essential functions under the direction of the Supervisor and with guidance from the Clinical Educator, Preceptor, or in collaboration with other Registered Nurses.
