Cargill is looking for an Optimization Scientist to improve and optimize scheduling processes within our supply chain planning. In this role, you will be responsible for deploying predictive and optimization models at scale for digital supply chain products to deliver significant business value.
What You'll Do
- Stay ahead of new analytic methodologies and technologies, collaborating with business functions to drive solution direction.
- Develop and apply algorithms or models to key business metrics to improve operations and answer business questions.
- Take ownership of the entire data science workflow, from project scoping and exploratory data analysis to model development, deployment, and monitoring.
- Conduct benchmarking for jobs related to information technology system design, development, and maintenance.
- Perform research, analysis, and modeling on organizational data.
- Develop algorithms, dashboards, information tools, and queries to clean, model, integrate, and evaluate data sets.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of new features, and deploy optimization solutions for the Production Scheduling and Optimization (PSO) product.
- Handle basic issues and problems under direct supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field such as Data Science, Optimization, Computer Science Engineering, or Operations Research.
- An MBA in Operations or Business Analytics from a reputed institute.
Nice to Have
- Basic knowledge of common statistical concepts, optimization skills, and usage of programming languages like Python.
- Beginning-to-working knowledge of data science concepts, methods, and tools.
- One or more years of work experience in a research field.
