Colas Rail UK is looking for an Operator/Fitter/Driver to join our front-line team maintaining railway infrastructure across the UK. You will play a crucial role ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of our fleet of On Track Machines (OTMs) through three core competencies: Driver, Operator, and Fitter.
What You'll Do
- Drive machines safely and unsupervised in accordance with all rules and regulations.
- Maintain and refresh competency in all aspects of TO2-201, adhering to operating notices.
- Perform risk-triggered commentary during driving duties and observe all signals.
- Operate OTMs as instructed in line with Railway Standards.
- Perform pre-start safety checks and safe machine shutdown procedures.
- Assist Fitters with machine repairs and report all faults immediately.
- Carry out scheduled machine maintenance and dynamic fault finding.
- Undertake emergency repairs on-site to maintain fleet reliability.
- Route learning, refreshing, and reporting of any issues.
- Report safety incidents and signal irregularities immediately.
- Ensure machines are well maintained, clean, and kept in a tidy condition.

Nice to Have
- Experience following policies and procedures safely without direct supervision.
- Previous experience within the Rail Industry as an engineer, operator, or driver.
- Hold PTS competency (desirable).
