Lilly is hiring an Operations Supervisor to lead our Parenteral Filling Night Shift operations. In this on-site role at our Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina facility, you will provide direct line supervision for manufacturing lines and personnel, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient production. You will be responsible for 10+ direct reports working across 2-3 manufacturing lines on a 12-hour shift rotation schedule.
What You'll Do
- Provide shift leadership for multiple drug product filling lines, developing technical expertise among manufacturing employees.
- Build a diverse, inclusive, and capable site organization by delivering operational procedures, quality processes, and controls.
- Hire and manage 10+ direct reports including line leaders and operators.
- Maintain a safe work environment and support all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) goals.
- Ensure adequate qualified and trained staffing for operators on the manufacturing lines.
- Communicate with the Area Manager on quality, equipment, and operational issues and areas for improvement.
- Coach, develop, and conduct performance evaluations for operators and technicians.
- Originate and investigate deviations or operational quality issues.
- Collaborate with support functions to reach consensus on unexpected manufacturing events.
- Act as both an administrator and technical leader, demonstrating knowledge of procedures, compliance, and proper technique.
- Ensure shop floor execution aligns with the business plan, current Good Manufacturing Practice (CGMP) conformance, and Operational Standards for Supply Chain Excellence (OSSCE).
What We're Looking For
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in operations or directly supporting a pharmaceutical manufacturing operation.
- Demonstrated leadership experience with an emphasis on respect for people.
- Skills in providing and receiving feedback and creating employee development plans.
- Basic computer skills (desktop software).
- Solid understanding of FDA guidelines and CGMP requirements.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to handle and prioritize multiple requests.
- Strong technical aptitude and ability to train and mentor others.
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts on a 2-2-3 schedule.
- Ability to work overtime as required, especially during training.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States; Lilly does not anticipate providing visa sponsorship for this position.
Nice to Have
- Bachelor’s Degree in science, engineering, or a technical field.
- Previous experience in facility or area start-up environments.
- Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems and electronic batch release.
- Experience with root cause analysis and technical writing.
- Strong organizational and motivational skills.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
Team & Environment
You will directly supervise a team of 10+ line leaders and operators, reporting to the Area Manager.
Benefits & Compensation
- Compensation range: $35.33 - $51.83 per hour.
