Modine is looking for an Operations Supervisor to manage daily manufacturing operations on the 2nd shift in our data center production facility. In this hands-on role, you'll gain direct experience in production management, continuous improvement, and team leadership while optimizing processes and delivering high-quality products.
What You'll Do
- Supervise, coach, and support a team of production employees to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
- Monitor and manage daily production schedules to meet output targets, deadlines, and customer requirements.
- Collaborate with the site leadership team, with direct responsibility for production team members' performance and plant output.
- Ensure proper staffing levels and coordinate workloads for optimal efficiency.
- Handle administrative tasks for time/attendance, disciplinary actions, promotions, and labor reporting.
- Implement and sustain lean manufacturing principles (5S, TPM, material flow) and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify and troubleshoot production bottlenecks, working with engineering and maintenance teams to resolve issues.
- Optimize work load balancing and labor through training matrices and labor plans.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to improve throughput, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
- Enforce all safety standards and ensure adherence to quality standards, specifications, and testing protocols.
- Collaborate with quality control teams to address defects and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
- Drive daily accountability through the Tier meeting process for continuous learning and improvement.
- Work closely with engineering, supply chain, and maintenance teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Support new product introductions and product changes on the production floor.
- Communicate effectively with leadership and staff on production status and challenges.
- Participate in mentorship and training to develop skills for future leadership roles.

- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong motivation to lead, take ownership, and make an impact on production operations.
- Analytical thinking with a drive to identify and implement process improvements.
- Strong team management, coaching, and problem-solving skills, with a hands-on approach to leadership.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe workplace and delivering high-quality products.
Nice to Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical) or related field, or equivalent experience in manufacturing leadership.
- Experience in HVAC, refrigeration, or related industries.
- Familiarity with chiller systems, refrigeration components, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
