Bachem is hiring an Operations Engineer to manage energy and utilities maintenance at our new manufacturing site in Sisslerfeld, Northwestern Switzerland. In this role, you will be responsible for the reliable operation of critical supply systems, developing robust maintenance workflows, and ensuring compliance with all technical, legal, and GMP standards.
What You'll Do
- Operate and maintain site-wide energy and media supply systems, including cooling, heating, compressed air, and media networks.
- Contribute to the system design of new plants and networks, and actively support their commissioning.
- Establish, implement, and continuously develop operation, maintenance, and upkeep processes for energy and media plants.
- Develop maintenance processes for chemical and pharmaceutical plant equipment.
- Build robust monitoring and reporting systems to ensure high plant availability and energy efficiency.
- Collaborate on technical concepts, optimization initiatives, and investment projects.
- Work closely with internal interfaces, including Engineering, Production, Quality, and external partners.
- Ensure compliance with all technical, legal, safety, and GMP requirements.
- Support the establishment of new structures within this growing site environment.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in mechanical engineering, supply engineering, process engineering, or a comparable field.
- Several years of professional experience in an industrial setting, ideally with energy plants or technical supply systems.
- Proven experience in establishing and optimizing technical processes and organizational structures.
- Confident handling of modern control systems, monitoring tools, and technical documentation.
- An analytical and structured approach to your work.
- Strong teamwork skills and an open-minded personality.
- High technical affinity and solid process understanding.
- Independent, solution-oriented thinking and initiative.
- The ability to communicate complex technical matters in an understandable way.
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of working in a GMP environment or other regulated industries is a strong advantage.
