Purdue University is seeking an Operations Clerk for an entry-level opportunity to start a meaningful, long-term career. This role serves as a diverse utility position performing service-level duties within Materials Management and Distribution, including backup support for Shipping, Receiving and Distribution, Surplus, and Building Receiving.
What You'll Do
- Gain practical insight into asset lifecycle management and surplus operations within a large higher education environment.
- Learn from one of the original higher education surplus operations programs, gaining institutional knowledge and best practices in sustainable materials management.
- Perform all service-level duties within the scope of Materials Management and Distribution as assigned.
- Serve as backup for Shipping, Receiving and Distribution, Surplus, and Building Receiving.
- Assist with loading and unloading materials, sort and coordinate materials for delivery.
- Scan and track mail and packages.
What We're Looking For
- High School Degree or High School Equivalency (HSE).
- Experience with receiving and inventory control.
- A valid US or Canadian driver's license that must be maintained.
- Basic computer knowledge and skills.
- Demonstrated teamwork.
- Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, co-workers, and vendors.
- Ability to comprehend and execute written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to lift and carry 50 to 80 lbs. frequently and up to 100 lbs. occasionally.
