Online Education Services (OES) is looking for an Online Learning Advisor (OLA) for Law. In this role, you will be the primary subject matter expert and facilitator for students enrolled in Swinburne Online's online degree programs. Your focus will be on guiding students through their learning journey to ensure academic and personal success.
What You'll Do
- Facilitate planned academic content, learning activities, and assessment tasks.
- Guide and advise students throughout the teaching period.
- Mark, process, and submit assessment results according to established guidelines within required time frames.
What We're Looking For
- TEQSA AQF level 8 qualifications or above.
- A law degree that fulfils the academic requirements for admission to legal practice in your State/Territory in Australia.
- 3-5 years of industry experience, preferably post-qualification experience as a Lawyer, Solicitor, or Barrister.
- High-level written communication skills.
- Strong organization and planning skills.
- Confidence and resourcefulness in learning new technologies.
- High levels of empathy for the challenges experienced by online students.
- A passion for helping students succeed academically and personally.
Nice to Have
- A Masters in Law with significant industry experience OR a PhD in Law or related field, or enrollment in a PhD with expected completion in 2 years.
- For non-practitioners: evidence of Academic and Professional Engagement Activities over the last 5 years (e.g., conferences, publications, involvement with professional bodies).
- A current practicing certificate.
- Experience in teaching at a tertiary level.
