Bright Horizons is hiring an Onboarding Officer (HR / Compliance)

About the Role

At Bright Horizons, we’re committed to creating environments where everyone can thrive. As an Onboarding Officer, you will be the guardian of our Safer Recruitment Policy, owning the onboarding journey for new hires and ensuring our nurseries meet all regulatory and internal requirements.

What You'll Do

  • Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition team to identify candidate compliance needs.
  • Manage all pre-employment checks including DBS, right to work, references, and qualifications.
  • Act as the primary contact for compliance enquiries and make suitability decisions aligned with Department of Education (DfE) guidance.
  • Assist in producing weekly compliance reports for management and stakeholders.
  • Develop and monitor internal controls for your division.
  • Provide training and coaching on onboarding checks and the Workday system.
  • Contribute to drafting and revising company policies.
  • Stay current with changing regulations and legislation, particularly in childcare.
  • Work towards and exceed clear KPI targets.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience within a recruitment, HR, or regulated environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for all levels.
  • Ability to prioritise workload while meeting and exceeding targets.
  • Collaborative approach with colleagues at all levels.
  • Knowledge of right to work and other pre-employment checks.
  • Proficient IT skills, including MS Office.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with the Workday system.
  • Compliance experience within the childcare sector.

Work Mode

This role operates on a hybrid basis. You will work remotely with occasional travel to offices as required.
