As an On Site Server Field Application Engineer, you will deliver hands-on technical support to enterprise clients, focusing on resolving both pre- and post-sales issues related to server hardware and software. Your role ensures seamless integration of advanced computing solutions by diagnosing system-level challenges and implementing effective fixes directly at customer locations.
What You'll Do
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues involving server architecture, firmware, BIOS, drivers, and Linux-based operating systems
- Visit customer sites regularly to assess operational environments, support integration, and troubleshoot live systems
- Reproduce reported issues using configured test environments, enabling accurate root cause analysis
- Enable remote Proof-of-Concept setups for customers by deploying and configuring evaluation server systems
- Present technical findings clearly to clients and track resolution progress through implementation
- Collaborate with engineering teams in Taiwan and local partners to align troubleshooting efforts and escalate complex cases
- Translate field experiences into actionable feedback for product management and marketing to guide future development
- Support sales initiatives with technical demonstrations and participate in business events when needed
Requirements
- Fluent in spoken English; additional fluency in German, French, Dutch, or Spanish is a strong advantage
- Proven experience with Linux operating systems and server-level diagnostics
- Solid understanding of PC and server hardware architecture
- Ability to work independently while maintaining strong collaboration with cross-functional teams
- Proactive mindset with strong organizational skills to manage multiple technical requests
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently across EMEA for on-site customer engagements
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
- Alternatively, MBO-level education with substantial hands-on technical experience
- Experience with Ansible, Redfish, or automated system diagnostics tools
- Background leading cross-disciplinary technical investigations
