Role Overview
Join a team focused on building and maintaining enterprise-grade systems using core legacy and modern integration technologies. As an OmniPlus Technical Specialist, you will play a central role in shaping product architecture, developing system enhancements, and resolving complex technical challenges—all within the Retirement domain. This is a fully remote position, offering flexibility while contributing to critical financial platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deploy scalable product architectures aligned with both business needs and technical specifications.
- Develop, test, and maintain system components using COBOL, VSAM, OmniPlus, OmniScript, and Linux Shell Scripting.
- Optimize system performance, reliability, and code maintainability across distributed environments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate features and ensure consistent delivery.
- Produce clear, up-to-date technical documentation for systems and processes.
- Lead code reviews to uphold quality, security, and compliance standards.
- Diagnose and resolve high-severity production issues efficiently.
- Ensure all solutions meet regulatory, security, and industry best practice requirements.
- Stay informed about evolving technologies to support continuous innovation.
- Work with stakeholders to define goals, track progress, and support system improvements.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience with Linux Shell Scripting, COBOL, VSAM, OmniPlus, and OmniScript in production environments.
- Background in designing and supporting product architectures in remote or hybrid setups.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze and troubleshoot complex systems.
- Clear and effective communication abilities in both technical and non-technical contexts.
- Self-directed with the capacity to manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities.
- Commitment to continuous learning and adapting to new tools and frameworks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct experience in the Retirement sector or Life & Annuities Insurance domain.
Technical Environment
Core technologies include COBOL, VSAM, OmniPlus, OmniScript, and Linux Shell Scripting. You’ll work within secure, regulated systems that require precision and compliance.
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary range: CAD $115,000 – $135,000. Additional compensation includes eligibility for annual performance-based bonuses and discretionary incentives per company guidelines.
