Tenet Healthcare is looking for an Occupational Therapist to join our team. In this clinical leadership role, you will provide oversight to the occupational therapy team, assist department leadership in day-to-day operations, and coordinate staff schedules and patient care. You will serve as a key resource, mentor staff, and help advance our commitment to exceptional patient care.
What You'll Do
- Assist department leadership in overseeing day-to-day operations and resolving problems.
- Coordinate staff work schedules and patient care assignments to ensure timely service delivery.
- Follow, clarify, and enforce department policies and procedures.
- Assume supervisory responsibility in the absence of department leadership.
- Participate in the selection and evaluation of occupational therapy personnel.
- Coordinate and participate in department performance improvement activities.
- Serve as a clinical resource to the team and assist with resolving complex cases.
- Participate in setting and implementing goals for the occupational therapy team.
- Serve as a mentor to assist in professional growth and development of therapy staff.
- Provide in-service education and orientation programs.
- Oversee, instruct, and evaluate staff in the application of occupational therapy principles, modalities, and techniques.
- Assist with volunteer program as needed.
- Function as a role model for customer service.
- Assist in marketing occupational therapy services to patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
- Serve as a clinical resource for community-based agencies, institutions, and universities.
- Assist management in department functions and special projects (e.g., utilization review, quality assurance, program development).
- Conduct studies and research projects as requested.
- Perform all the duties/responsibilities of an Occupational Therapist as required.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Three to five years of progressively more responsible experience in a clinical area.
- Current license to practice as an Occupational Therapist in the State of Michigan.
- Initial certification with the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
- Leadership skills including comfort with decision-making, coaching, teaching, and inspiring others.
- Analytical ability and comprehensive knowledge base to evaluate and treat patients, identify improvement opportunities, and ensure policy compliance.
- Interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, staff, and management.
- Technical knowledge of current occupational therapy treatment techniques.
Nice to Have
- Leadership experience is strongly preferred.
