Health Quest Systems Inc, part of Nuvance Health, is hiring for an expert Outpatient Coder. In this role, you will analyze and code complex outpatient records, applying high-level expertise in coding guidelines, CPT, and LCD to ensure appropriate reimbursement and compliance.
What You'll Do
- Perform ICD-10-CM diagnostic and CPT procedural coding, maintaining a minimum accuracy rate of 95%.
- Utilize electronic medical records and computerized coding/abstracting systems.
- Apply UHDDS definitions and regulatory guidelines to select diagnoses and procedures.
- Apply knowledge of ambulatory payment classification, CPT guidelines, local coverage determinations, and modifier use.
- Communicate with providers to clarify documentation for accurate coding.
- Code using either a 3M encoder or ICD-9-CM/ICD-10-CM books.
- Perform E/M coding for physician and facility with a minimum accuracy of 95%.
- Attend required education programs to maintain skills and stay current on code changes.
- Maintain certified coding credentials and demonstrate annual compliance.
- Achieve expectations for customer service, teamwork, and safety.
- Respond to billing office questions regarding diagnoses and procedures.
- Fulfill all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
What We're Looking For
- Must reside in AL, AZ, CO, CT, DE, FL, GA, IL, IN, KS, MA, MD, ME, MI, MS, NC, NH, NJ, NY, OH, PA, SC, TN, TX, VA.
- CPC, COC, CCS, or CCS-P certification.
- Specialized training in medical terminology, ICD-10-CM Diagnosis, CPT procedure, and E/M coding.
- Able to decipher operative reports, medical orders, and various medical records for appropriate code selection.
- Experience in acute care coding with outpatient records.
- A minimum of 2 years of demonstrated coding experience applying coding and documentation guidelines.
- High School Graduate or Equivalent.
- Must have Cardiology & Interventional Cardiology experience.

Benefits & Compensation
- Compensation: $25.70 - $47.72 Hourly.
