The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is looking for a Nurse to join our health team delivering critical care in the Rohingya Refugee Camp in Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh. You will be responsible for implementing high-quality healthcare activities, focusing on routine patient care at the Primary Health Care Center (PHCC) and Stabilization Corner (SC). What You'll Do
- Provide and ensure delivery of patient care through implementation of prescribed medication and monitoring effects.
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients at the stabilization corner (SC), ensuring infection prevention and control (IPC), proper storage of nutritional items, and accurate documentation.
- Perform nursing procedures and assist doctors during patient rounds, noting and implementing orders properly.
- Attend to admitted patients with dedication and maintain daily registers (e.g., Patient, Disease, Doctor Order sheet).
- Provide health care, first aid, immunizations, and assistance in recovery and rehabilitation.
- Ensure all patient care equipment, instruments, and supplies are maintained.
- Triage, screen, and assess patients, prioritizing emergency cases and coordinating with consultants.
- Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments within defined timeframes.
- Deliver hygiene promotion, health education, and patient/caregiver counseling.
- Ensure adherence to infection prevention and control measures and accurate recording in clinic registers.
- Ensure clinical areas are appropriately stocked with essential equipment, supplies, and nutritional items.
- Respect patient confidentiality and conduct all consultations in a dignified and respectful manner.
- Work with community volunteers to provide health promotion, community mobilization, and awareness raising.
- Provide specialized care including Family Planning counseling, clinical care for sexual assault survivors, menstrual regulation, post-abortion care, and first aid for intimate partner violence.
- Ensure quality of antenatal care (ANC), postnatal care (PNC), safe delivery, and neonatal care services.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with local communities, government agencies, and implementing partners.
- Foster ongoing learning, honest dialogue, and reflection to strengthen safeguarding and promote IRC values.
- Promote and actively participate in initiatives to build team engagement, inclusion, and cohesion.
What We're Looking For
- A Diploma in Nursing.
- At least 2 years of relevant working experience.
Nice to Have
- Previous working experience with a local or international NGO.
- Specific skills in nursing procedures.
- Previous experience working in a nutritional facility, especially in a Stabilization Corner (SC).
Team & Environment
You will be a member of the IRC health team responsible for supporting the implementation of healthcare activities in the Rohingya Refugee Camp.

This is a local-country position based in Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh.
