ActioNet, Inc. was looking for a Network Operations Engineer

ActioNet, Inc. is seeking a hands-on Network Operations Engineer (Tier II) to maintain and troubleshoot wired, wireless, and mobile broadband solutions in response to network faults and incidents. This Mission Essential position provides Tier 2 technical expertise and requires up to 10% travel.

What You'll Do

  • Maintain and fix wired, wireless, and mobile broadband solutions in response to network faults and problems.
  • Provide hands-on touch labor for all network devices.
  • Oversee monitoring of network assets per SLAs and perform break/fix and maintenance activities.
  • Monitor network dashboards, analyze problems, troubleshoot escalated incidents, and coordinate operational information.
  • Provide subject matter expertise for LAN, WAN, firewalls, and other network technologies.
  • Investigate and diagnose incidents to restore failed network services and lead root cause analysis.
  • Install and support remote access platforms such as VPN, Terminal Services, and Citrix.
  • Adapt to emerging technologies as they are introduced to the environment.
  • Troubleshoot complex problems to closure.
  • Assess and implement Change Requests in accordance with the Change Management process.
  • Perform site surveys, configuration and engineering, installation planning, and documentation services.

What We're Looking For

  • Technical BA/BS degree plus 5 years of experience.
  • High School diploma or associate degree plus a minimum of 7 years performing as a Network Operations Engineer supporting large, complex networks in a Network Operations Center environment.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
  • DoD 8570 IAT II Baseline Certification (CompTIA Security+ CE or CCNA-SEC).
  • CCNA or equivalent certification.
  • Secret security clearance.

Nice to Have

  • ITIL v3 or ITSM experience.
  • Experience supporting DAF and local base environments.

Technical Stack

  • Cisco command line interface and configuration.
  • Network protocols such as OSPF, BGP, and EIGRP.
  • Wireless technologies, VPNs, IPSs, WAN Accelerators.
